As a reminder, PRE-REGISTRATION IS DUE DEC 4. If you want to attend the American Beekeeping Federation Conference & Tradeshow prior to the start of ABRC (so on Mon-Wed), then you MUST PRE-REGISTER. This is a enforced by the beekeeping convention organizers and this is the only way that registering for ABRC also covers registration for the beekeeping conference.
Pre-registration and RSVP-ing for the AAPA catered lunch business meeting on Thursday is also required by Dec 4. Those that do not RSVP for the lunch are welcome at the business meeting but will not be able to have the provided lunch. It’ll be a salad, soup, sandwich lunch with vegetarian options. Please RSVP for the lunch by e-mailing Mike at michael.simonefinstrom(at)ars.usda.gov!
We have a loaded agenda for the 2018 American Bee Research Conference! Title submission for oral presentations is now closed, but we can accept more poster presentations until December 15. Poster titles submitted after now, however, will not be able to be included in the official program book.

We’re excited about the meeting and all of the great speakers that have signed up, including Marla Spivak as our keynote.
Full agenda will be announced by November 1.
At our last meeting AAPA membership in attendance has approved a creation of two new awards. We are very excited to announce the Postdoc travel award and the Extension/outreach award. We are also continuing the tradition of supporting our students with the AAPA scholarship and the presentation awards.
The deadline for ALL awards is November 1, 2017 except for the student presentation awards which are given out at the annual meeting. Please see the attached guidelines and let me know if you have any questions. Feel free to share these announcements with others, but also please note that the applicants must be AAPA members at the time of application. We will do our best to announce the winners of the Postdoc award and the Extension/outreach award by mid-December.
